Additive Manufacturing (AM) is a key enabler for high value manufacturing. The design of AM components in particular will produce a paradigm shift in the way components are designed, developed and manufactured.
In order to industrialize AM, a significant amount of work is still required. The weight and performance benefits of components redesigned for AM is proven. To ensure these gains are not eroded it is vital that an end2end process for AM is established to provide the engineer with the tools and design guidelines to maximize the true potential of AM.
Altair has been working closely with OEM’s, manufacturers of AM machinery and AM researchers to help develop a robust end2end process for AM. Altair presents this process during the free Symposium “ATCx – Design for Additive Manufacturing” in hall 6 on April 27 during this year’s Hannover Messe CAE Forum. Presentations come from companies such as EDAG, RUAG Space, LZN, voxeljet, Altair and more.
